Charitable Donation Gifting

Setting Up and Running Charitable Donation Gifting

Charity gifting (also called “cause gifting”) is a way to let recipients choose to direct the value of their gift to a charitable organization instead of selecting a physical gift.

How it works

  • During your campaign, “Donate to a cause” appears as one of the gift options alongside the rest of your curated gift selection.

  • If a recipient chooses a charity option, they’re effectively allocating a pre-determined donation amount to that chosen cause.

  • The donation amount is set in advance (per donation) so you, as a gifting admin, have cost control and predictable budgeting.

What recipients see

  • A selection of vetted charitable organizations, each with a short description and supporting imagery/logo.

What happens after the campaign

  • Once the campaign ends, &Open totals up donations per charity.

  • You’re invoiced for the final donation totals (by charity).

  • After the invoice is issued (and funds are captured), &Open arranges payment to each charity.

Timing & controls

  • Donations are not paid out automatically during the campaign.

  • Payouts are made only after the campaign concludes and totals are confirmed, OR on a regular cadence as discussed with your &Open contact, for evergreen-style campaigns.

  • Invoicing happens before payout, to ensure funds are received first.

Adding or requesting a new charity

If there’s a specific charity you’d like to include, we can usually add it, subject to basic verification (e.g., confirming the organization's website and payment method).
