Overview
Gift sets let you bundle multiple physical products into a single gift option - so gift senders can browse and send a curated bundle as one item.
What are gift sets?
A gift set is a single gift option that contains one or more products from your inventory.
Each gift set has its own:
Name
Description
Total price, including the price of all included gifts
Image (shown to both sender and recipient)
Stock availability (per warehouse/location)
Gift sets appear alongside your other gift inventory and can be:
Sent ad hoc, or
Added to a campaign, just like any other gift
What gift sets enable
Gift sets are designed to support flexible gift bundling offerings, such as:
Either/Or bundles
Example: (Gift A + Gift B) or (Gift C + Gift D)
→ Create two separate gift sets, each with different products.
One consistent item + one “choice” item (via multiple sets)
Example: Always include Gift A, and offer Gift B or Gift C or Gift D
→ Create multiple gift sets, each including Gift A plus one additional product.
Who can create gift sets?
Gift sets are set up by the &Open team in the admin.
How gift sets work
1) Admin setup (handled by &Open)
Gift sets are created and managed by &Open Account Managers.
2) Gift sender experience
When gift sets are configured for your program, gift senders will see a “Gift sets” section on their homepage.
Gift senders can:
Browse available gift sets
Open a gift set to view its description, price, and stock availability
Add a gift set to their basket
Send it ad hoc or include it in a campaign
3) Gift recipient experience
The gift recipient experience is unchanged.
Recipients see the gift set’s image and description as part of the normal redemption flow.
If a product inside the gift set has variants (e.g., size or color), the recipient will be prompted to select a variant before completing redemption.
Stock availability and warehouses
Gift set availability is shown per warehouse/location (for example, US and Ireland).
How availability is determined
Availability is determined by the limiting item in the set.
If any product in the gift set is out of stock in a warehouse, the entire gift set will appear unavailable for that location.
Managing stock
Stock and allocations are managed through the underlying products (via inventory management).
Gift sets aren’t intended to be managed as inventory items themselves; they reflect the availability of the products they include.
