How do I track my gifting budget?

Budget tracking using our simple budget limit tools

You can track your personal gifting budget, by clicking on the gift balance bar at the top of your homepage.

Or, from the navigation bar, select Team Management, and then navigate to your personal user profile.

On your user profile you will see a visual budget tracker as shown above.

As a reminder, individuals with the Admin role can see this for all users. Individuals with the Gift Sender role can see this only on their personal profile.

There are 3 statuses within your budget tracker:

  • Redeemed - This status is for any gifts that have been sent and redeemed by the recipient. In this case, a portion of your budget is used and no longer available.

  • Unredeemed - This status occurs for any committed gift spend when a gift invitation is sent, but not yet redeemed. Prior to redemption, the budget is held. At the point of gift redemption, the funds move to 'Redeemed' status. If an invite is never redeemed, this money can be freed up and re-used by cancelling the gift request. See more on this below.

  • Remaining Budget - This status is for remaining available budget to use for the month that has not yet been used or committed.

If you wish to free up some of your unredeemed budget, click on the link to 'Cancel Invites to free up balance' on your budget tracker.

*As a reminder, we suggest being very mindful regarding which requests you cancel and when, as you do not want these cancellations to negatively impact a recipient's experience. Once and invitation is cancelled, it can no longer be redeemed and the recipient will see an error message if they click into it. We suggest waiting 7-8 business days before cancelling requests, as this gives a bit of time for folks to come back from holidays or time off to still redeem their gift.

You will be directed to a filtered view of your Gift History page showing only your requests that have not yet been redeemed.

Click on the request you wish to cancel to see the full view of the request.

And press the cancel gift button.

You will see a warning pop up. If you wish to proceed with the cancellation, then click 'Cancel.'

Successful cancellations will be confirmed.

Gift Senders can cancel their own requests. Admins can cancel any gift requests.

When navigating back to your budget tracker, you will now see that the cancelled gift request budget is re-allocated to your available budget for sending gifts.

Keep in mind that your monthly or annual budget re-sets on the 1st of each calendar month or year. Budget from the prior month or yeardoes not transfer into the next month or year. It's use-it-or-lose-it!
