Assembly and/or Custom Packaging
&Open's Warehouses can facilitate sending gifts kitted and/or with custom packaging in certain circumstances. Reach out to your &Open Account Manager to get started on a project involving custom packaging and assembly, and read on to understand the process and costs.
Note: Assembly is not required for standard orders, it is only required where a special element is required, like branded packaging, custom presentation, etc. Learn more about shipping costs for standard orders here.
Assembly is billed separately from shipping.
Assembly fees do not include the cost of packaging (boxes, inserts, tape, etc.). Those costs are quoted separately and must be agreed with the client.
Typically for high-tier, super-serve, and at scale.
If approved, allow for a minimum 2-week SLA to assemble gifts into custom packaging.
Intended use: branded packaging and more complex unboxing experiences only.
Complex builds must have a defined pack-out spec in advance (items per gift, packaging components, and any inserts).
Pricing structure (USD/EUR):
500 to 1,000 gifts
Set-up fee: $1,000 or €1,000
Per gift: $3.00 or €3.00
Per individual item: $0.50 or €0.50 per item (a branded box and branded tape each count as an item)
Example price (US warehouse):
750 gifts consisting of a water bottle, t-shirt, notebook, and backpack, in a client branded box
Set up fee: $1,000
Assembly fee: $4,125 → 750 x $5.50 ($3.00 + 5x$0.50)
Total cost = $5,125 or $6.83 per gift
1,000+ gifts
Set-up fee: $1,000 or €1,000
Per gift: $2.50 or €2.50
Per individual item: $0.40 or €0.40 per item
Example price (US warehouse):
750 gifts consisting of a water bottle, t-shirt, notebook, and backpack, in a client branded box
Set up fee: $1,000
Assembly fee: $3,375 → 750 x $4.50 ($2.50 + 5x$0.40)
Total cost = $4,375 or $5.83 per gift
Client inbounding
Inbounding client-owned stock is not offered as standard.
Any exception must follow our client-facing inbounding policy. Contact your Account Manager to inquire for approval.
