You can add &Open to HubSpot yourself in a few minutes. The app connects with secure sign-in, so there's no API key to copy and no waiting on setup.
Before you start
You need to be a HubSpot Super Admin to install the app, and an &Open account you can sign in to. If you're not sure whether you have admin access in HubSpot, your HubSpot admin can check for you.
Install the app
In &Open, open the Integrations page and choose the HubSpot tile.
You're taken to HubSpot. Choose the HubSpot account you want to connect if you're asked.
Review the access &Open asks for, then choose Connect app. &Open asks to read and update your contacts so it can personalize gifts and record gift activity.
You're brought back to &Open, and the connection is ready.
The app isn't currently listed in the HubSpot App Marketplace. Once it's available there, you'll also be able to install it straight from the marketplace.
What happens automatically
When you install the app, &Open adds its gift-tracking fields to your contacts for you. You'll find them on contact records, grouped under &Open Gifting. There's nothing to create by hand.
After you install
Three things become available to your team:
An &Open card on the contact record, where your people can send a gift and see what that contact has already been sent.
The Send a gift via &Open action in the workflow builder, so gifting can happen automatically. This needs a HubSpot plan that includes workflows (Professional or above).
Gift activity on the contact timeline, which starts appearing as you send.
Two things to do next.
Add the &Open card to your contact record layout and choose which teams' views include it, so it appears where your senders need it.
Then check that everyone who'll send gifts has an &Open account, since a HubSpot login on its own doesn't give them access to the card.
There's nothing else to configure. Gift activity syncs on its own, and the card shows each person the campaigns they can already access in &Open.
Note: You will need to be on a HubSpot plan that includes workflows.
Questions and answers
Do I still need to create a Private App or paste an access token?
No. The older setup needed a HubSpot Private App and an access token. The app replaces all of that with secure sign-in, so you can skip those steps.
I already use the older HubSpot integration. What should I do?
You can move to the new app, and your gifting keeps working while you switch. Your &Open account team can help you make the change.
Who can install the app?
A HubSpot Super Admin. HubSpot asks for admin access because the app sets up contact fields and connects to your workflows.
What access does &Open ask for?
Permission to read and update your contacts and their properties. &Open reads contact details to personalize gift invitations, and writes gift activity back so you can see it in HubSpot.
