Once your Slack workspace is connected to &Open and you've signed in to Slack from your own &Open account, you can check your gifting activity, see how much budget you have left, see your campaigns, and send a gift without leaving Slack. Type /gift in Slack to see what's available.
To look up a specific campaign or gift recipient, paste its &Open link into a message and Slack expands it into a card.
Check your gifting activity
Type /gift status.
You'll see your gifting activity for the current month:
Gift invitations you've created
Gifts waiting to be redeemed
Gifts redeemed or in fulfillment
Gifts delivered
Choose View gift history to see the full detail in the &Open platform.
Check your remaining gifting budget
Type /gift budget.
This shows how much gifting budget you have left in your current budget period, alongside your total limit.
Your budget period might run monthly, quarterly, or annually, depending on how your organization set up budgets.
See the campaigns you can send from
Type /gift campaigns.
You'll see the active campaigns you have access to. The campaign you pick sets the gifts and theme the gift recipient sees.
Send a gift
Type /gift send. A Send a gift form opens in Slack.
Add the gift recipient's email address and name.
Choose a campaign. This sets the gifts and theme the gift recipient sees.
Choose how to deliver it: send an email with a personalized message, or get a link to share with the gift recipient yourself.
To send a gift you need access to at least one active campaign, and enough budget to cover it. If either is missing, your account administrator can help.
Look up a campaign or gift recipient
Paste the &Open link into any Slack message. It expands into a card showing the detail, such as the title, who owns it, and the redemption rate. Those numbers come from &Open each time you view the card.

Questions and answers
I can't see the /gift command in Slack
Two things need to happen first. Someone who administers both &Open and Slack connects your workspace, then you sign in to Slack from your own &Open account. Open the Slack settings page in &Open to check where you stand.
Can I look up a gift recipient's status or gift history from Slack?
There's no command for that, but you can paste the &Open link for the campaign, gift invitation or gift recipient into a Slack message and it expands into a card with the current detail.
/gift status covers your own gifting activity for the current month. Choose View gift history for the full record in the &Open platform.
My budget looks different from what I expected
/gift budget shows the budget period your organization set up, which might be a month, a quarter, or a year. If the figure looks wrong, check with your account administrator which period applies to you.
Can I send gifts to more than one person at a time?
Not from Slack. /gift send handles one gift recipient per gift. For larger sends, use the &Open platform.
