Gifting Methods
Custom Gifts can be sent to recipients in different ways through the gift platform:
Email Invite: Send a personalized email with a unique gift link to each recipient. Great for smaller, more personal sends.
Individual Gift Link: Generate a unique URL for each recipient—links can be copied and shared directly (e.g., via Slack, LinkedIn, or your own email). Bulk download of multiple links is supported for ease.
Direct to Address: Gifts are sent directly to recipients’ physical addresses, often without prior notification or invitation—used for bulk surprises or rewards.
To send gifts using any of these methods, log into your gift platform. Your custom gift inventory will appear at the top, and below that you will see the On-Demand Marketplace filled with hundreds of gift options from best-in-class brands that you can gifted in an instant. Sending Gifts via Email Invitation, Link, or Direct to Address
Selecting Warehouse and Gifts
Scroll to the Custom Gifts section of your Gift Platform and select the warehouse your gifts will ship from. For guidance on where the &Open warehouses ship from, check this article.
Select the gifts you would like to send by clicking the item and selecting the "Add to Gift Selection" button. You'll see the gifts populate in your shopping cart in the top right corner. Click "Continue selecting" to add additional gifts to your cart if desired.
When ready, click "Checkout".
Deciding how to offer gifts to your recipient
Review the options in the dropdown at the top of the checkout page:
All of these gifts per recipient
Selecting this option means your recipient will receive one of each item in your shopping cart. Your recipient will be able to see the gifts and read a description of the gifts before they redeem and enter their address for redemption. You'll see the word "AND" appear between the gifts, indicating recipients will receive all items shown.
One of these gifts per recipient
Selecting this option means your recipient have a choice of which gift to receive, so they'll be able to pick which gift is the best fit for them. Your recipient will be able to see the gifts and read a description of the gifts before they redeem and enter their address for redemption. You'll see the word "OR" appear between the gifts, indicating recipients will a choice between the items shown.
All of these gifts per recipient as a surprise
Selecting this option means your recipient will receive one of each item in your shopping cart. Your recipient will not be able to see the gifts before they redeem and enter their address for redemption. You'll see the word "AND" appear between the gifts, indicating recipients will receive all items shown.
Send these gifts direct to address
Selecting this option means your recipient will receive one of each item in your shopping cart. Your recipient will not be able to see the gifts before they redeem and you, as the sender, will enter an address to ship the gifts directly to your recipient doorstYou'll see the word "AND" appear between the gifts, indicating recipients will receive all items shown.
Notecard
After selecting how to gift your recipient, scroll down and add a notecard to your gift selection if designed. Pick the notecard that corresponds to your gifting occasion. Use the 🔄 icon to flip the card over and read to message pre-printed on the notecard.
Theme
Pick the theme, or branded recipient experience, that best fits your gifting occasion and recipient. Learn more about themes here. You can also record or upload a video message that your recipient can play before redeeming their gift. Learn more about this here.
Sending Methods
Send using a gift link
Select "Sending using a gift link". The gift platform will generate a unique gift link per recipient that you can send to the recipient in any communication channel, such as WhatsApp, Slack, direct message, email, or anywhere else you're communicating.
Send using email
Select "Send using email" as the sending method.
Add an email subject line and message. Use the ❇️ AI email generation feature to create an email message based on your gift occasion and recipient if desired.
Recipient Details
Enter your recipient's name and email address. Use the "+ Add Recipient" button to gift multiple recipients using the same gift options, notecard, theme, and email message, if gifting by email. If gifting many recipients, use the Batch upload feature to download a .csv template, fill out the recipient details, and upload it to the platform. Alternately, click the "Contacts" button to gift recipients using details pulled from an integrated CRM or People tool. Read more about integrations here.
Recipient Details - Sending Direct to Address
If 'Send direct to address' was picked from the dropdown at the beginning of the checkout page, the Recipient details section will allow you, the sender, to add all of the address information for your recipient. The gift will ship directly to the address input here, rather than enabling the recipient to redeem and input a recipient of their choice.
Cost Summary
Review the Cost Summary and reach out to your team's Admin or &Open point of contact if any details need to be adjusted.
Sending
Finally, click Let's Go!
If gifting by email, your gift invitations will be sent to your recipient(s) immediately and they'll be able to redeem the gift options you selected. If gifting by gift link, your links will be generated immediately.
Once gifts invitations are sent, all statuses, tracking details and information for sent gifts can be found in the Gift History section of your platform.
